TABLE NOTES
Table MMTFNL contains 4,688 rows arranged in 74 columns.
This table evolved from an original use in tracking members of the Taliesin Fellows organization into a comprehensive source of biographical detail concerning the extended Frank Lloyd Wright community. The structure of this table serves to account for individuals as they relate to the communities of the Taliesin Fellowship and the Taliesin Fellows, subscribers to the Journal of the Taliesin Fellows, Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation staff or others relevant because of involvement with Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, conservation organizations, and miscellaneous other relationships. Geiger also implemented a column in this table to account for name changes due to multiple marriage relationships within the Taliesin Fellowship. The bulk of data entry occurred between October 7, 1990, and December 1, 2000.
John Geiger wrote the following description of this table:
"This is a basic name and address file and that includes all people, starting with the Oak Park Studio, who were Apprentices or employees, and anybody who was in residence at Taliesin, including family, apprentices, paid draftsmen, musicians, etc. There are two sets of In and Out dates to help define who was there on any given date. A comments field is provided for minor biographical information, and two six-digit classification fields so that the list can be sorted in any imaginable way. It also includes the address of all Frank Lloyd Wright buildings listed by the original client and the current occupant, where known." (October 28, 2002). See document, below.
Document: Further description by Geiger about his purposes for this table design
