PROCEDURE NOTES

Procedure JGAPPRENTICEBYNAME calls on Table MMTFNL with filters applied on Column [RECORD NUMBER] set manually to a single unique identifier ("0154", which designates architectural historian Thomas S. Hines) and Column [ID CODE 1] to include Taliesin Fellows members (*TF*) and exclude a variety of other conditions ("*DC*", for deceased; "*NX*", for address unknown; "*NP", for records not meant to be printed; "*TFLA*", whose meaning is undetermined [but likely meant Taliesin Fellows living in Los Angeles]; and "*SP*", for spouse of Taliesin Apprentice or other). The abbreviations for most of the filter terms can be found in Table MMTFID. The report format produced the full range of personal information available in the database.

This procedure is similar to PROCEDURE 83: TFBOGARTMAILLIST, except for the limitation for retrieving a single record from the filter applied on Column [RECORD NUMBER]. This query structure was probably created by John Geiger as a means for quick reference to individual contact information.
